Cimas Clinics
The Society established the first primary clinic in 2003 in response to service providers declining medical aid cards in favour of cash payments which put substantial financial pressure on Members. Today Cimas operates fourteen primary care clinics, seven of which are located in Harare with the other six located in Mutare, Kwekwe, Gweru, Bulawayo, Masvingo and Victoria Falls. These clinics serve an average of 400,000 members and non-member patients every year.
In addition, Cimas has eight dental clinics which were established with the objective of expanding the primary care service offering and creating a one-stop facility which offers quality healthcare solutions at affordable rates to Members and non- members. In 2022, Cimas opened a new Optometry unit and a radiology clinic in Harare.
The following services are provided at the Clinics:
- General Practitioner Consultation
- Nurse Consultation
- HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC); i.e., Rapid and the ELISA Test
- General Counselling; i.e. on chronic conditions and social issues
- ARV Treatment
- Drug dispensing, including haemodialysisdrugs and cancer drugs
- Annual wellness checks
- Medical Examinations: on a cash-only basis.
- Family Planning methods; i.e. injectable, the contraceptive pill, Jadelle. Condoms are supplied for free.
- Pap smear procedures are also done.
- General Counselling; i.e. on chronic conditions and social issues
- Vaccinations available: i.e., Yellow fever, antirabies, Hepatitis B, Antitetanus.
- Drug dispensing, including haemodialysisdrugs and cancer drugs
