In a ground-breaking initiative meant to promote healthy cooking and eating, the country’s largest private medical aid society, health, and wellness service provider, Cimas Health Group has launched the iGo Recipe Book.
The launch was a vibrant gathering of healthcare professionals, Cimas members, partners, Cimas Health Group staff and media representatives.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Willmore Kapuyanyika, Head of iGo, said the book recipe book is a comprehensive guide created by their nutrition and culinary arts experts.
He said the book that advances Cimas Health Group’s purpose to inspire healthier communities was designed specifically for those who enjoy cooking healthy meals and are eager to improve their cooking in the comfort of their own kitchens.
“This recipe book is a comprehensive guide easy to understand, and through the book, we seek to continue promoting healthy eating habits, providing nutritional guidance, and offering meal ideas for individuals looking to improve their diet and overall well-being,” Dr. Kapuyanyika said.
Dr. Kapuyanyika said the iGo Recipe Book offers a variety of easy-to-follow, nutrient-rich recipes aimed at improving dietary habits and preventing non-communicable diseases such as strokes, diabetes, cancers, heart diseases, and kidney conditions.
“Our recipe book provides step-by-step instructions, informative guides and a variety of recipes easy to understand for cooks of all levels. Maintaining a healthy body requires a combination of efforts, including a proper diet,” he noted adding that diet is an important risk factor in cardiovascular diseases.
“A healthy diet and lifestyle are the keys to preventing and managing some diseases. Incorporating the healthy recipes in this book into daily meals helps individuals make better dietary choices, supporting long-term health and well-being.”
Dr. Kapuyanyika said in their broader mission of fostering wellness and healthier lifestyles, under their iGo, wellness brand they recently acquired a mobile kitchen equipped with modern cooking equipment.
“Our state-of-the-art mobile kitchen marks a transformative step forward, enabling us to expand our services beyond traditional settings. It will bring nutrition education and health-conscious culinary practices directly into communities, fostering greater accessibility and impact,” he said.
“This new direction, to acquire the mobile kitchen was influenced by the overall theme of SDG3 which is “to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” We continue to encourage our community to make healthier food choices, understand the importance of nutrition, and take charge of their health.”
He said the mobile kitchen will play a central role in health awareness events, corporate wellness programs, and initiatives aimed at cultivating a culture of healthy living.
Dr. Kapuyanyika said their soon-to-open Vanpragh facility in Harare will feature an advanced iGo kitchen, further underscoring their commitment to holistic well-being.
